UNITY: What’s New in Unity 2.5

Unity 3D is an amazing game development environment that was Mac only and is now out for Windows as well. It also officially supports iPhone and Wii development. It’s an incredible tool that is relatively easy to use!

Here is a better description of the Edutainment conference in China that I will be attending for Bowdoin from April 15 – 20.

The conference will include plenary invited talks, workshops, tutorials, paper presentation tracks and panel discussions. Topics include: E-Learning Platforms and Tools; Learning Resource Management; Practice and Experience Sharing; E-Learning Standards; Mobile learning; Education and remote classrooms; Effectiveness of VR for education; Life Long Learning; Collaborative Environments; Remote Group Simulations; Collaborative Learning; Virtual Reality in Education; Game Design and Development; Game Engine Development and Customization; Game AI and Artificial Life; Game Physics; Game Rendering/Animations; Virtual Characters/Agents; Online/Mobile Game/Video Game; Storytelling and Game Narrative; Affective Interaction in Games; Digital Museum; Digital Heritage; Animation techniques; Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality.
My colleague at Bowdoin and I have submitted an abstract for a paper and presentation for Edutainment 2006 which is being held in China this year. To my surprise, it was accepted! So now, we have to write a paper, prepare to present and travel to China in April. The paper’s working title is “700 Years Later: Using Multimedia to Bring the Stories of Ancient Asian Scrolls to Today’s Undergraduates”. The final one is due in mid-January, so I’ll be busy with that over the coming weeks. And, it looks so far like I’ll be traveling by myself since Tina, my partner in crime on this, is pregnant and due in March, making it difficult for her to travel in April. More on this development soon.
EDIT:
I have been asked several times where exactly the conference is. It is at Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China
